QI GONG, YIN YOGA & SOUNDING: MEDITATION AND MOVEMENT RETREAT

After the success of our first Qigong retreat in March, we are excited to offer another in October 2019!
Join Claire Turner Reid and Sonja den Elzen for a restorative, nourishing, and empowering weekend of meditation and movement practices rooted in Traditional Chinese Philosophies. This weekend retreat will be an immersion into Qigong, Yin Yoga, and Sound Healing to help support healing, longevity, and harmony.
We hope you will go home at the end of the weekend, nourished, calm, in flow and have learned some foundational tools for cultivating and balancing your Qi (energy), body, mind and spirit and not only be in more harmony with yourself and the natural world around you, as well as having a deeper understanding of your relationship with the elements.
Qigong with Claire:
Claire will share form practice, meditations, and visualizations from the beautiful lineages she is grateful to be a part of. This practice invites participants to actively participate in transformation processes to support healing and growth of the body, mind, and spirit. During this autumnal season, we will especially focus on practices that support and nourish our deepest selves as we shift into the fall. We will cultivate tools for easeful fall and recovery so that we may let go with grace, like the trees do in the autumn.
Yin Yoga & Meditation with Sonja:
Explore your energetic body through a yin yoga meridian awareness based practice. We will explore yin postures and connect to the meridians that each posture effects and learn about the Traditional Chinese Medicine Philosophy of 5 elements as it relates to each meridian, and how we can use these elements to be in harmony with the natural world and elemental energies around and within us. We will learn how to surrender into our bodies, to create a yin balance to our yang lifestyles. Meridians are the network of channels that conduct energy and life force through our bodies. Through this we can learn to balance and support or Qi (energetic life force). Go home having learned some postures that can help you relax your nervous system, balance your energy, move into your day with a calm your mind and help you cultivate a good nights sleep.
Comfortable, cozy accommodation at the space is included along with 6 meals. Meals will be whole food, plant based, nourishing and delicious and in harmony with the season.
Friday ~ 4 pm arrive and settle into your room
~5:30 / 6 pm dinner
~7 pm welcome circle, self massage, meditation
~8 pm Yin Yoga with Sound Bath Sivasana
Saturday ~ 7 am optional meditation sit
~ 8 am - 9am breakfast
~ 10 am - 12 pm Qi gong
~ 12 pm - 1 pm Lunch
~ 3 pm - 5 pm (with short break) Qi Gong
~ 6 pm Dinner
~ 8 pm Yin Yoga with Sounding
Sunday ~ 7 am optional meditation sit
~ 8 am - 9am breakfast

~ 2 pm - 3 pm Qi Gong
~ 3 pm - 4 pm Closing

Getting there :

Driving ~ please let us know if you have ride share room for those that don’t have a car.
Bus ~ OntarioNorthland Bus goes from Yorkdale to Gravenhurst, leaving at 3pm or 2:30 from Toronto Coach terminal for $42 each way (we can pick you up at the Gravenhurst bus stop)
If you are busing and would like a drive back, there will be room for a couple of people on Monday mid morning to Toronto in Sonja’s car.
What is near the healing arts centre: Nestled in the Muskokas, towns of Gravenhurst and Bracebridge are within 7 and 18 min drive respectively. A 5 min walk from the house with bring you to the shores of Muskoka Lake, or to a forested river… bring snowshoes if you have them as its a nice adventure to go exploring.
What to bring:
~ fall gear for walking trails if that is something you would like to do
~ easy to move in clothing
~ slippers, warm socks
~ we will provide towels and bed linens

If you choose to cancel your reservation before September 10th, 2019 you will receive a refund minus $100. If you cancel after September 10th, 2019, there are NO REFUNDS. In the event that you personally are able to sell your spot/room you will receive all your money back MINUS $200.
There are no discounts for arriving late or leaving early.
